At Monkfrith, we are committed to ensuring that every child thrives in a safe, supportive, and high-achieving environment. As governors, we work closely with the school to raise standards, promote pupil well-being, and help shape its future. Each of us has a strong connection to Monkfrith, and we are passionate about supporting its success and maintaining its excellent reputation in the local community.

What we do

The governing body plays a vital role in:

• Ensuring accountability for the school’s performance. 
• Shaping the school’s strategic direction and future development. 
• Monitoring and reviewing progress to drive continuous improvement. 
• Overseeing finances and staffing to ensure resources are used effectively. 
• Supporting all pupils, including those with special needs, to access a high-quality education.
• Promoting pupil well-being through strong moral and cultural development.

How we work

We meet termly to review the school’s strategic direction, monitor performance, and implement initiatives that support continuous improvement. Additionally, three focused committees meet termly to discuss key areas:

• Finance & Resources – Managing the school’s budget and ensuring financial efficiency.
• Pupil Progress & Welfare – Overseeing academic achievement and well-being.
• Personnel – Supporting staff recruitment, development, and performance.

Our Team

The governing body includes teacher governors, co-opted governors, local authority governors, and parent governors. Parent governors, in particular, provide valuable insight into how effectively the school delivers the curriculum and ensures a safe, enriching environment for all pupils.
