Our Vision

Monkfrith fosters a safe, caring environment where every child thrives. We promote academic excellence, a love of learning, and a broad, balanced curriculum. Our children are resilient, respectful, and articulate. We support our teachers and work in partnership with families to ensure every child reaches their full potential.

Our Curriculum

We provide a broad and balanced curriculum.  Our learning is connected through exciting themes which develop children’s ability to make horizontal links across the year and vertical links between year groups.

Vocabulary linked to subject specific areas of the curriculum, as well as vocabulary for learning, is explicitly taught so children are able to talk confidently about what they have learnt.

Wellbeing

Children’s wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that happy, confident, and resilient children are best placed to thrive in their learning and personal development. Through our curriculum, we provide opportunities for children to understand and manage their emotions, using approaches such as the Zones of Regulation and PSHE. This ensures a shared language for discussing feelings and equips children with strategies to navigate challenges with confidence. By embedding wellbeing into all aspects of school life, we create a supportive environment where every child can flourish both academically and emotionally.

Extracurricular Activities

Each term, we offer a diverse range of extracurricular activities to enrich our children’s learning and development. From sports clubs and creative arts to performance opportunities and language enrichment, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club runs from 7.45am each morning.  Children are offered a healthy breakfast followed by the opportunity to take part in games and other activities until the school day begins.

After School Club

After School Club runs from the end of the school day until 6pm.  The children have a snack and a drink followed by a range of different activities, including arts and crafts, sports or just the chance to play with their friends.
