A welcome from Friends of Monkfrith School
About FOMs
FOMS is the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of Monkfrith School, operating as a registered charity whose members include all parents, guardians, carers and teachers. A parent committee plans events and drives our work day-to-day, while our charity trustees ensure FOMS complies with its constitution and ensures we operate responsibly and stay true to our core purpose.
Our Purpose
To provide every child at Monkfrith with access to the resources and opportunities that school funding alone cannot always cover. To bring our school community together through shared experiences that strengthen the bonds between families, staff and children.
Our staff work collaboratively and reflectively, ensuring each child is known and supported. We build strong relationships with families and are united in our goal to help every pupil flourish – both academically and personally.

How does FOMS support the school?
FOMS has been part of Monkfrith School for many years, raising funds to enrich children’s learning. All funds go directly towards the resources an increasingly stretched school budget cannot cover.
This includes one-off contributions like the playground equipment, audio equipment, sensory trail, Reception reading shed, theatre performances or workshops and Year 6 leavers’ celebrations, as well as ongoing costs the school relies on every year such as books to inspire a love of reading, extended swimming lessons, professional music tuition, classroom and art supplies and contributions to the Arbor parent app.
How can you get involved?
There are lots of ways to support your child and our school community through FOMS.

Volunteer your time
You don’t need to commit to anything regular, even an hour helping at the Christmas or Summer Fair makes a real difference. We’d also love to hear about any contacts or skills you think could be valuable and we’re always looking for new members to join our committee and/or class representatives to act as a liaison between FOMS and their class group.

Donate or sponsor
We welcome one-off donations, raffle prizes and sponsorship of specific elements at our events such as grotto rooms at the Christmas Fair and bouncy castles at the Summer Fair. Every contribution, however big or small, makes a real difference.

Payroll giving and matchfunding
As a registered charity, FOMS is eligible for Payroll Giving and employer match funding schemes. If your employer participates, it’s a simple and tax-efficient way to boost what we raise. We are also registered on Benevity, so if your employer uses the platform you can support us directly through there too. If you’d like help getting started or have any questions about the process, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
